Philanthropy
Western Specialized is a large supporter of a variety of organizations in the community. Support to local charities are made each week that distribute resources within the communities surrounding Mankato. One organization Western Specialized supports is The Greater Mankato Area United Way, which has been serving the region since 1956 and supports 57 programs within 37 agencies in Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Nicollet and Waseca counties. Another organization that Western Specialized donates to on a regular basis is The Salvation Army, which serves anyone in need without discrimination. Whether it’s a hot meal, help paying a bill or a more long-term solution, they are ready to help. In addition, Western Specialized sponsors the Minnesota State University football golf outing and pigskin BBQ.

Carbon footprint
Western Specialized Inc. cares about their footprint. From the warehouse to the trucks, we are working to be a leader for our industry. Our efforts include:
- Truck and trailer fairings to help reduce the use of fossil fuels.
- Battery Powered Truck APU-Eliminates the need to idle truck
- Low rolling resistant tires increase mileage
- Warehouse has skylights providing natural lighting reducing our consumption of electricity
- Led lighting with auto on off
- Complete Solar grid large enough to support all our office and warehouse electrical needs
Working with Western Specialized is easy, efficient, and definitely cost-effective. Our company uses them regularly for LTL truckloads as well as for temporary storage at their warehouse facility. They have provided the best rates and quickest turnaround time of all of the companies we have used in the past; they provide quotes within minutes and coordinate the truckloads the same day. On the storage side, the conditions in the warehouse are immaculate, and they are able to transfer the goods to our warehouse when we need them – even on short notice!
